“Life’s a journey. Whatever your industry or field is, you should have a deep passion for what you do. When I have either a long time client or meeting one for the very first time, I love making them feel comfortable in my chair. It’s important for me to get to know who they are and what they are seeking for their style. Trust is so important and style can be a very personal thing. I also believe in creating a space that is kind, thoughtful and inclusive."From classic bobs to curly shags, free-hand coloring and foiled highlights, Emily can create a custom look that fits each client’s personality and needs. She loves it all.
Emily has over eighteen years of experience. She started out as an apprentice at one of the top salons in Portland. As she gained experience, she began to coordinate and direct photoshoots to showcase her more creative haircuts and coloring which have been published nationally as well as internationally. Her business philosophy is:
“In my experience the key traits of a good hairdresser are working hard, being consistent, investing in continuing education, listening to your clients and being thoughtful and sincere. I have all different types of client with different hair types and needs; from short hair, shag cuts, curly hair, balayage to rainbow colors each person is unique. I also believe in inclusivity and creating a space that is welcoming to all folks.”
One of Emily’s past achievements was her creation of “Your Hairapy Session with Emily.” The podcast goes into detail of her past experiences as a hairstylist. Also on the show she interviews salon owner’s, stylists and other entrepreneurs who have made an impact within the Portland community and beyond. In 2023 Emily made the decision to move her long time career in Portland to Beaverton to be closer to her fam. She is located in the beautiful Downtown Beaverton area where there are many restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. When Emily is not behind the chair she’s enjoying reading (her favorite bookstore is Jan’s), cooking, hanging out with friends and spending time with her twin kiddos and husband.
